March 2009
Warm Spring Greetings,

Since we last saw all of you at Waldheim, much has happened in our nation.  A monetary crisis has arisen; many in our extended family have experienced loss--both personal and financial.  Our earthly fortunes may be uncertain, but as believers, Christ promises our eternal future is not in doubt.
As well as strengthening your soul through fellowship and ministry programming, in these difficult times, a summer at Waldheim remains a tremendous value for your recreation budget.
I encourage all cottage owners to spend some extended quality time rediscovering the simple gifts the Lord gives us.  If you've never experienced a sunrise or approaching thunderstorm in the park, this is the year to do it.  An inexpensive can of paint or rake goes a long way in freshening up the appearance of your "Home in the Woods" making the surroundings more pleasant and inviting to all.  This spring, the board will be focusing on the issue of cottage upkeep and the general appearance of the grove.  We will again be offering opportunities for service on volunteer days--Saturday mornings throughout the season.
Interest has been expressed in our part-time grounds keeper posting; the position is currently still open.
We have received compensation from the juveniles who vandalized our entrance sign and will be replacing it soon.
With a number of cottages for sale in a wide range of affordability, there's never been a better time for your friends to invest in Waldheim; your tax-deductable contribution to the ministries at Waldheim is always graciously welcomed, as well.

-Scott Schneck, E.C. Waldheim Park Association President

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
