HISTORY
The Waldheim Park Civic Association was founded in 1913 as “The Settlers.”
The object of the organization was to bring about a neighborly and helpful feeling among the residents in the woods. It was decided to render a program every Thursday evening at which they hoped to entertain their friends.
On the Fourth of July they held an elaborate celebration of a safe and sane character. To this celebration friends were invited. (This celebration is carried on to this day.)
In 1913, nearly 40 families were living in various cottages making a total population of 160 people. (The Allentown Leader—Thursday July 3, 1913)
