Swimming Pool Committee Chair - Term ends 2028
Church Affiliation: Christ EC Church
Birthday: February 25th
What brings you to serve at Waldheim? What is your history with Waldheim and/or the EC denomination? I grew up in the park. Since I was a kid, my dad did the electrical work and my mom would bring us to the pool to swim. On Sunday nights, we went to services. My uncle also had a cottage and we would visit my cousins all of the time. When I was a kid, Seibert EC Church was a part of Waldheim and we had many youth group events there that I attended. As an adult, I brought my children too Waldheim Pool to swim. Being that at one time I had my lifeguard certification, once they were older, I would bring my children there while I was lifeguarding It was something that I enjoyed doing. I lifeguarded for 7 years at Waldheim. I then got a cottage and it was a blessing. My now adult children both have cottages there. Waldheim is just in my blood!
What Waldheim Committee are you currently on/are you in charge of? I am the head of the Waldheim Pool Committee so I manage the lifeguards, pool schedule, events at the pool, etc.
What is your favorite thing to do on a free day/what hobby do you enjoy? On any given free day, you will find me either on FaceTime or Skype with my grandkids or my daughter or you will find me at the pool. There is a good chance if it is summer, you will find me doing both of those things at the same time!
Tell one summer and/or Waldheim memory: Going to the Sunday night services and summer youth group on Wednesdays.
What is one unique thing about you that you'd like to share? Or something you think you are really good at? I'll have to get back to you on that one too!

What is your history with Waldheim and/or the EC denomination? My family has had a cottage at Waldheim Park since I was young, maybe since age 10 if I can recall correctly. Many fond childhood memories were made here at Waldheim and for this reason the Park has been my peaceful haven. My membership at Seibert EC Church was part of my childhood thru adult life. In 2019 I chose to become a member of Jordan United Church of Christ as my husband is the Senior Pastor of this church for 23 years. I am committed to God no matter what denomination.
What Waldheim Committee(s) are you currently on, or have you served on in the past? If none, what is your area of interest or skill that will be a benefit to the ministry of Waldheim Park? Prior to becoming a Board member, I was involved in the Civic Association, serving in a vice president capacity. During this time, I planned and arranged many Civic events including fundraising, themed social gatherings and assisted in all other aspects of this committee’s purpose. This type of contribution is my strong asset which helps to bring fellowship and a sense of togetherness among cottage owners.
I served as Reservations Coordinator of Park events including Church services, weddings, family reunions, parties and much more. My contribution during this position allowed me to assess our Fee Schedule and update the charges of renting our Park buildings increasing revenue for the Park.
What is your favorite thing to do on a free day/what hobby or hobbies do you enjoy? If I am not at my FT job, which is my passion, I am gardening, landscaping or improving the interior of my home and cottage by painting, interior design etc. I enjoy time with my husband as we travel or on quiet days reading a good book.
Tell one summer and/or Waldheim memory: My whole childhood is filled with so many memories that I could not choose a single one. Overall, I can say that I had the best childhood growing up at Waldheim! So grateful to my father for buying Twin Oaks cottage many yrs ago. Now being back as an adult, I love to spend time at my cottage on Third Avenue. So much fun in caring for the area around my cottage as well as designing the inside. David has loved being a cottage owner with me from the very beginning of our relationship. So many projects occupy our time.
What is one unique thing about you that you'd like to share? Or something you think you are good at? My particular talent is in landscaping and interior design. Using these gifts to improve the overall upkeep of the Park is what I enjoy doing. I am also experienced in and passionately enjoy organizing group events, catering and decor.

What brings you to serve at Waldheim? What is your history with Waldheim and/or the EC denomination? Waldheim Park has been in my family for a long time. My Fathers Parents owned a cottage, I came as a child when the tabernacle was filled every Sunday evening. We came when our children were toddlers and then purchased a cottage. Our grandchildren come to Waldheim now. I want Waldheim to be a surviving church camp once again, but I would really like to see the residents be more cordial to one another. To get the residents to be here for the Christ centered camp it was designed to be.

What brings you to serve at Waldheim? What is your history with Waldheim and/or the EC denomination? I love Waldheim, it’s my safe place. I would love that I am able to contribute in decisions that will benefit the park. I have lived here my entire life. My mom bought her cottage when she was 23, therefore, I was raised here. I then bought my own cottage at 22. I was also raised in the EC Denomination.

What Waldheim Committee are you currently on/are you in charge of? If none, what is your area of interest or expertise that will be a benefit to the Association?
I am new to the board this year. I am currently working on our website redesign. I also have an interest in serving on the screening committee. I have served with Civic Association and organize the annual Fall Festival at Waldheim.
What is your favorite thing to do on a free day/what hobby do you enjoy?
Over the summer specifically - Spend the day at my cottage. Whether that’s cleaning, planting, or just sitting out in the sun. My cottage is where I feel the most at home.
Tell one summer and/or Waldheim memory: I have so so many memories at Waldheim. I could share many. One of my favorite things I’ve done at Waldheim was gathering all the kids in the park and meeting at the Kumm Esse circle for night games. Whether that be manhunt, kick the can, or capture the flag. We were ALWAYS left with huge smiles on our faces, laughter heard throughout the park and so many memories from each night.
What is one unique thing about you that you'd like to share? Or something you think you are good at? I’m good at taking control of things. Fall Fest for example- I can appropriately delegate tasks.
